Phew, Wednesday was the last day of staining/painting the house, it feels so nice to finally be done with all that, it was some tedious work. Seeing as I got 250 euro out of it, it’s not too bad however.
Specially nice, was coming home from a hard day of work to a brand new shower cabinet, ready to be used. Showering properly for the first time in 5 weeks, I can’t even begin to describe that feeling.

Unfortunately there was no rain yesterday, so I had to go and help out again with staining the house. We got one and a half side done, so there’s only another one and a half left to do. Still, I’m not looking forward to it too much, my whole body aches like crazy.

Parents left on some small vacation earlier today, and now I got the house to myself until Wednesday, which I am thoroughly enjoying so far. It’s not like I actually do anything different when they’re not around, but I like the feeling of being alone I guess. I also take immense pleasure in going grocery shopping by myself for some reason.
Bought some nice steaks along with potatoes that I made earlier, nothing beats a nice piece of perfectly done meat! For dessert I had jello shots with vodka. I’ve always wanted to try those out, so I bought some jello at the store and went to town. Was afraid I’d mess up the vodka to water ratio and end up with some watery goo, but it went quite alright. Enjoyable way to get drunk, if not a bit nauseating. Though I think that was mostly because they were out of strawberry jello and I had to use raspberry instead, which smells absolutely horrible in my opinion.

Holy fuck. I just cut my hair for the first time in 4 years. Needless to say, it was pretty long. I love having long hair, but when it reaches your lower back, it starts to get really annoying and it comes in the way all the freaking time. I cut it to about 10-15cm below the shoulders. It feels so unbelieveably weird. I’m used to combing my fingers through my hair, but now when I do that, it’s like a part of me is missing. It’s going to take some time getting used to, that’s for sure.

I had completely forgotten how delicious toasted bread with butter and sugar is. It must have been years since I last had it.

Today’s guilty pleasure: vanilla ice cream with crushed caramel and almonds mix. The only thing that can top this is lemon ice cream, but they don’t sell that in normal convenience stores. Oh the pain.

Some times, good things have bad things lurking right around the corner. The good thing being that my parents left for a vacation earlier today, and will be gone until Sunday. The bad thing being that I started to feel a sore throat brewing two days ago, it escalated yesterday, but luckily it seems to have subsided a bit today. Hopefully it was a short lasting experience, sore throat is one of the most horrible sicknesses to endure in my opinion.
I got a big craving for some decent food today, so I decided to go buy some steaks and potatoes for consumation. I really felt like some baked potatoes, but my local grocery shop had a rather crappy selection to choose from, with no big potatoes. I wasn’t sure if smaller potatoes would be as good baked, but I decided to try my luck anyway. Got home, scrubbed them clean, then proceeded to cover them up in some oil, salted them, and put them in the oven for ~1hr on around 175 degrees. Right before they were done, I heated up a pan as hot as possible, then put the steaks in and cooked them for ~2mins on each side to get them medium done or so. At the same time I heated up a casserole with water and mixed in some red wine sauce I had laying around. Top it all of with a bottle of Tuborg beer and Casablanca showing on TV, pure heaven.
Tue 6th June, 2006 23:54 » New best ever formula
Although it might be seen as a cheap crap brand by most people, I’m completely in love with Head & Shoulders shampoo. It keeps my hair nice and neat. Today I just tried the newest flavor, citrus fresh, and have come to the conclusion that it owns hard and smells yummy. Not to mention the fact that it says this on the bottle: NEW BEST EVER FORMULA. How can you go wrong with that?
