Well, as long as this isn’t just the usual bullshit from politicians, I know who I’m voting for the next term.

Earlier today I woke up with a slight sore throat.

Well now my sore throat has escalated into a fucking full fledged virus attack or something. Not only has my sore throat turned into some kind of deep throat nightmare, but now I also have a hovering headache. Painkillers are doing absolutely nothing. My nose isn’t runny, but it just… ugh, hurts. Pressing my fingers on the sides of my nose bridge sort of alleviates the pain, but it doesn’t last long. My joints are killing me, especially my back, shoulders and knees. Worst of all is the cold sweating, god I hate that feeling. My whole body just feels frail, it’s like I could just fall into a coma any minute; which I would gladly welcome at this point, at least I could just sleep through all the pain.

</end whine>

Oh well, it’s not the end of the world. I just hope it passes quickly. Any recommended remedies?

Sat 7th April, 2007 10:09 » DROD

I’ve got a new favorite game (well besides Elma obviously), and its name is DROD — short for Deadly Rooms of Death. I have to give a big thank you to axxu who requested this game from yoosef, who then uploaded it to my ftp so axxu could download it from there. I was curious about what it was, so I installed it and checked it out. I pretty much instantly fell in love with the game.

You can read more about the game here. In short, it’s a puzzle, hack’n’slash, turn based RPG all rolled into one. I’ve been playing it for quite a few months now, and it’s just as addictive as Elma is. You can even download “externals” made by other players or create your own, it’s immensely fun.

Why I decided to write about this now however, is that a week ago there was a new version released! I thought it was awesome enough from before, but now it’s even more amazing. The page for the game is pretty messy, so it can be hard to get around what version is the newest and what the differences are, but I’ll explain it in Elma terms, perhaps it’ll make sense. DROD: King Dugan’s Dungeon is pretty much the equivalent to Across. Then you have DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold, which is like Elma. In other words, the game’s core is updated, while you keep the backwards compatability of the levels, just like you can play Across levels in Elma.

The new version is called DROD: The City Beneath, which in context is like getting Elma 2. As soon as I saw it was available I bought it. I’m pretty much a pirate when it comes to games, music and movies, but when I have something which I like and use constantly, I will buy it. Or perhaps I just wanted to play the game straight away and not have to wait for a pirated version to surface somewhere, who knows. Either way I purchased it.

I highly suggest you give the demo of this new version a try and see what you have been missing all this time.
